Lunch Time at Nanashi……

Could it really be that eating certain foods makes you feel healthier and better about other things, like say when you want to be drinking coffee and hankering for chocolate treats? It is the only way I can explain why I love Nanashi and keep going back there for more……this French/Japanese inspired haven has two locations, one in the Marais and the other the 10th arrondissement……’s the Marais one I feel at home in…simple in decor with sweet little coloured chairs…a bit of Italian seventies design in 2011 Paris…..surrounded by bay windows, it doesn’t interfere with Parisians’ favourite past-time, people watching…….there are various pencilled notes on the wall describing colour codes and names, perhaps for future interior plans that are still in the works, not that it need to worry too much about such details……..for the chef Kaori Endo, the former chef of the Rose Bakery, has created a world of her own…..the mainstay of the menu is the bento box….usually comes in a meat, fish or veggie burger variety….with a side of quinoa and 3 kinds of amazing salad of the day…….my favourite is the fish option….but the fresh juices and non chocolate treats are worth skipping an entree for…..
