Some days feel more David Hockney than others…..

This long weekend I woke up every morning dreaming of a different David Hockney painting………as a young man he was entirely magical, he must have had some magic powers because people fell under his spell quite easily, I adore reading about his London days in the late sixties, early seventies, his incredibly beautiful group of friends, Manolo Blahnik and Paloma Picasso amongst them, but most of all of his great friendship with Celia Birtwell, who features in so many paintings and drawings of this time, most famously in Mr and Mrs. Clark and Percy…..but it is his recent work I am loving the most right now……..
